Let me start by acknowledging the profound frustration, disappointment and – for some – outrage that I know some of you are feeling after Republicans passed a so-called "continuing resolution" last week.

I get it. Believe me.

But the question I keep hearing now is where do we go from here? What happens next?

And I think the answer is that there is too much at stake to do anything but regroup and organize ourselves in our communities for the important fights ahead.

First, it's important to acknowledge that in the history of this country, meaningful change never comes from Washington, D.C. alone. It happens when engaged citizens from all across the country stand-up and make their voices heard.

That is true when we're talking about the labor movement in this country, it is true of the civil rights movement, it is true of the women's suffrage movement, and on and on it goes.

So yes, we must elect leaders in the next election who will serve as a check on the Trump administration. But in the immediate future we have to organize across the country to stop cuts to Medicaid, food assistance, veterans care and more to fund tax cuts for the rich.

As you read this, the Democratic National Committee is setting up events and mobilizations in 50 states to stop Republicans as we head into the big fight -- Trump's effort to pass those tax cuts by cutting lifesaving programs.

But the DNC cannot do it alone. They need our help. We just got out of an expensive election and they need the resources to get it done. And that can only happen if people like you chip-in. So I am asking, respectfully:

Momentum is on Democrats’ side, Friend — take a look at last night’s election results:

In Wisconsin, Judge Susan Crawford decisively defeated MAGA candidate Brad Schimel, even after Elon Musk poured tens of millions of dollars into the race.

In Florida, Democrats dramatically overperformed in two special congressional elections. Democrat Gay Valimont claimed the best performance from a Democrat in Florida’s 1st Congressional District this century and became the first Democrat in almost two decades to flip Escambia County.

In Florida’s 6th, Democrat Josh Weil secured a massive overperformance in a Trump +30 district.

People across the country are furious with what they’re seeing from Trump and Elon Musk — and they’re voting accordingly.

As DNC Chair Ken Martin says, the thing about momentum is that it’s contagious, and now it’s up to us to keep it going. The DNC invested in both Wisconsin and Florida’s state parties to help reach as many voters as possible in the last few weeks, and we’re committed to doing the same to help support Democrats in upcoming special elections nationwide.
